Tuition
  • Tuition payment to NPSB are made on the weeks listed on the calendar. You may choose to pay annually, semi-annually or quarterly but once you choose a plan you must stay with it for the entire year.
  • Tuition checks should be made payable to NPSB.  Write student’s full name in memo of check and drop into “tuition box” or mail so that we receive it sometime during that payment week. When paying in cash you must write yourself a receipt (in book under office window) and keep the original for your records. Please leave the yellow copy in the receipt book. If you do not write a receipt we cannot be responsible for lost cash payments.
  • There is a $25 fee for late payments that come in even one day after the payment week is over. Children will not be allowed into class until payment with late fee is made.
  • There is a $25 bank fee for returned checks. Cash only after second returned check.
  • Tuition is based on a yearly fee which includes holidays. Tuition is always paid in full.  Refunds are not given for dropped classes within a pay period.  The tuition fee will be adjusted for the following pay period if a class is dropped. Schedule changes must be made in writing at least two weeks before your next payment is due. The same applies for dropping out of the school.  If your intentions are not given in writing two weeks prior to the next payment week you are responsible for the next session’s fees.
  • In the event a court hearing is necessary to collect fees you will also be responsible for NPSB’s court costs.

  • Tuition is non-transferable.

Absences and Make-Ups

  • One make-up class per month, for each of your class days, is permitted. Students must fill out a make-up slip (under office window) and give it to the instructor when entering the studio for their make-up class. Students will not be allowed into a make up class without this slip.

  • The school frowns upon students missing classes and will move the student back if they are not keeping up. In ballet training every single class is important.

  • Ballet classes may be made-up in the same level or a lower  level. Jazz classes may be made-up in a lower level of jazz or a same level or lower level ballet.

  • Make-up classes are non-transferable.

  • Our scheduled holidays are figured in to our fiscal year and are not eligible for make-ups.

  •  If we have an unscheduled cancellation (usually due to icy roads or heavy snow)  you may make-up the cancelled class without it being counted in your one per month allowed make-ups.

  • If a student must be out of class for an extended period of time because of injury or illness we must have a signed note from their physician or physical therapist,  to hold their place in the school.

  • NPSB reserves the right to expel a student at any time for stealing, using tobacco products or any other inappropriate behavior at our school or performances.

Snow Closing

  •  We do not follow the public school closing for snow. We decide two hours in advance of each class whether we will close for that class or not. Because we want the children to have as many classes as possible we only close when we feel it is truly dangerous for anyone to drive. You must call our number or check the website two hours in advance of your scheduled class on that day (not more than two hours, as we may not have decided yet). If you get the regular message, we’re open for that class. We always put a “closed for snow” message on the machine and the website two hours prior to each class. We do not have the man power to call you about weather related issues. Please realize, you can make-up snow closing only if we close. You may not makeup if we were open but you decided not to come. Closings are always posted at the website on the “School Bulletin Board” page two hours prior to closing.

About the Building

  • Parents should read the white board in the lobby often. Information & changes are posted weekly.  Papers are not always sent out & when they are they do not always make it home.  You are responsible for being updated.  We do not have the man power to make phone calls.

  • Food and drink are allowed in the lobby area only.  Older students (for classes that last over 1 1/2 hours) may take water bottles into the studio which must be kept at the bottom of the stairs.

  • The lobby is for parents, students and siblings to sit quietly and wait. Younger children must be supervised and kept quiet while in the lobby. If this is not possible please take them outside. The noise from the lobby can be disturbing to classes.

  • Animals are not allowed in the lobby. Please do not let your dog relieve themselves on our property without cleaning up.

  • Chewing gum is not allowed anywhere on the premise.

  • Never for any reason knock on the “private” doors in front of the house or in the lobby. Leave a note in the tuition box or a message on the answering machine if you need to speak to us.

  • The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Label all clothing, particularly dance shoes. What ever we find at the end of the day we place in the lost & found which is in the girls dressing room. It is your responsibility to come and pick up your forgotten things during open hours. Do not call and ask us to search for something and then hold it for you. Check your schedules at home to see when we’re open and then come to retrieve your things.
